ASSIGNMENT 3
1. Reflect on what you have learnt (about yourself/ your classmates) during the camp.
ASSIGNMENT 2 -> BEVERLY GOH [9]
1. Reflect on what you have learnt during the camp.
I learnt that teamwork is very important. Everyone must work together to complete a task. Like in the naure ramble, Atreya and Shriram were leading the group and everyone cooperated. No one back out when we had to walk through long grasses and mud. We got the wrong trail therefore we couldn't finish finding all the clues. (Are they clues???) But that wasn't important because what mattered was that we worked together as a team and we all had fun. It was a great experience.
2. What are the ways that you have challenged yourself during the camp? What did you do and how did you feel after achieving success or overcoming the challenge?
At first, I didn't want to get my shoes and legs muddy because I hate getting dirty. But when my shoes were all muddy and dirty and stinky in the nature ramble, I figured that I should just get dirty and enjoy the activity. It was quite difficult for me to adapt to the environment. As in sleeping in tents, bathing in a dirty toilet, washing my own dishes and getting mud all over. And this was because I was so materialistic. And I still am. But it was ok. I manage to get through the camp. I guess I won't have problems going to the field already. I hope..

i've learnt a lot of stuff... like how to live a life in the wilderness (haha!) without my family. i'm sort of used to seeing my parents at night, and the camp sort of made me emotionally stronger... i guess. its actually kind of fun to be living with the insects and gross stuff that homes usually won't have. and we're actually quite united! before the camp, our class seemed split into a lot of mini-groups... but after the camp, most of us mixed around and got to know more about other people. it also made me more enthusiastic (is it spelt like that?) than before. i mean, last year's camp didn't bring out the 'enthu' me, but this year's did.
the camp also brought out the 'braveness' out of people. a lot of people who were kind of timid at first became 'stronger' after this camp. i guess its the 'enthuness' that helped them cope with their fears.
2. What are the ways that you have challenged yourself during the camp? What did you do and how did you feel after achieving sucess or overcoming the challenge?
i've convinced myself to step into the muddy ground in Nature Rumble, and get cut by all those irritating weird looking plants, and also get bitten by the mosquitoes. but it wasn't that bad actually... its just that we got very dirty shoes after the activity. obviously i felt glad that i could go through the dirt without screaming or whatsoever...
the camp was really fun!
During the camp at Sarimbun, I actually learnt a lot of stuff about my classmates and me. Like for one thing, I learnt that 2 Endeavour is a VERY hyper class. We also made up MANY MANY cheers for our class(: I also realised that Tan Ying is VERY VERY afraid of heights and that I am VERY afraid of ant bites. It's painful ok.... There was a Nature Ramble too. The ramble was quite fun even though our shoes got filled with mud and we got scratched and bitten by many plants and insects. It wasn't that bad for us as Shriram and Atreya helped us to clear the path through the tall tall grass... But I think that both of them got hurt real bad as Shriram fell on a cactus and Atreya got pricked by thorns. All I have to say is.... THANKS SOOO MUCH! WE REALLY APPRECIATE THE BOTH OF YOU GUYS(:
There were many team building games like the see-saw game and the Tippy Shuffle. The see-saw was a game where we had to balance this enormous see-saw for as long as we can.Our record was 1min and 5 sec!! it was quite hard you know. So 1min was a VERY big accomplishment. The Tippy shuffle was a game where we were supposed to balance on a log and arrange ourselves in a certain order. I actually fell off TWO TIMES! The first time was ok as I fell on my feet but the second time I fell on the ground.... It was not that painful though I was in shock.
2. What are the ways that you have challenged yourself during the camp? What did you do and how did you feel after acheiving success or overcoming the challenges??
I challenged myself by entering mud and tall tall grasses!! And also a number of people were losing their temper so it was quite hard to keep calm but we all managed it in the end.... After 'conquering' all our obstacles I felt really proud of all of us.

I have learnt that i can actually pitch a tent!!hm..i've also realised that can actually endure all the mud ,insects and so many other things and not 'running away'.I have also learnt that 2E is actually quite HYPER!!!YAY for that.Everyone in the class is really nice and fun and not to forget HYPER!!!I have realised that our class has quite a number of good leaders. Like what beverly have said, atreya and shirinam are quite gentlemanly. :) I realised that during the nature ramble, they were one of the first ones to walk as there was alot of vegetation and it was difficult to walk. They helped to 'clear' the path for us. Quite gentlemanly. LOL. But all i have to say is 2E rocks!!! :)) i truly had a great time at the camp.
2. What are the ways that you have challenged yourself during the camp? What did you do and how did your feel after achieving sucess or overcoming the challenge?
I feel that i have challenge myself by facing my fears , like for example my fear of falling from a high place.Like during the teambuildind games, we were supposed to stand on the tippy-shuffle, the large pole which we had to balance ourselves on top and start arranging ourselves according to our initials from A to Z. i successfully moved myself from one point to another, without falling. It was pretty scary up there as it was quite some distance from the ground.YAY! I DID IT! LOL. It turned out to be fun. I also challenged myself during the Nature Rumble by going through all the vegetation without backing out! After overcoming a challenge i feel really good as i have FINALLY done it and i have faced my fears. :)

Throughout the sec 2 EdVenture camp, i realised that a class, can actually be quite united and VERY hyper... our class was sort of an example.. and maybe we've grown closer..? Anyway, i've learnt how to stand dirt and stuff ... like the very muddy water.. and being very dirty for almost a whole day...hmm.. and the outdoor cooking was really.... unique ..~ our group learnt a new way of cooking potatoes ! xD then there was the nature rumble... where our group was sort of lost somewhere.. and some people were very kind so as to lead the rest... =) hahas thanykyou .. oh and there was the river challenge... we had to build a raft that really floats, and then make sure that all of us can safely cross the river using it... quite a lot of teamwork... hahas..
2. What are the ways that you have challenged yourself during the camp? What did you do and how did you feel after achieving sucess or overcoming the challenge?
I guess it had to be getting dirty for one whole day and not trying to make a super big fuss out of it ;] oh and maybe trying to be more understanding ... =)) Of course i felt that i had achieved something... and the feeling was...quite nice ..~~~

Include specific examples and describe how you felt during the process of learning and after.
During this camp, I learnt that 2Endeavour is actually quite hyper and this camp actually helped strengthen the bond between us, classmates. I learnt that i'm actually able to step in the watery, disgusting mud without saying "don't want don't want" kinda thing. =D And i learnt that Atreya and Shriram are really very nice and they really helped us alot throughout the camp and they are both very gentlemanly.
For example, during the NATURE RUMBLE, Shriram really helped us and supported us while Atreya was infront leading the group and getting cuts all over. Shriram even fell into a cactus bush while trying to help us up. We had alot of teamwork during the NATURE RUMBLE and it was really fun grouping with them (Sylvie, Pearlin, Eileen, Ying, Janisha, Atreya, Shriram and myself). They also had alot of leadership qualities in them and were able to lead well. WELL DONE SHRIRAM AND ATREYA! And i just wanna say THANKS to the BOTH of you.. (: <3
2. What are the ways that you have challenged yourself during the camp?
What did you do and how did your feel after achieving sucess or overcoming the challenge?
I think the greatest challenge for me during the camp was probably staying cooperated and cool with each other. As during the camp, it's a sure thing that we will have different of opinions and sometimes we will just get really angry with each other and maybe start quarrelling. So it was really important that we all had to give in at times and accept each other. And it was rather tough to make everyone feel that they are part of the group as sometimes one of us will be left out. To stay cool, we just had to really just calm ourselves down and talk to friends around us and well, just accept each other. Overcoming it was rather easy as i had friends with me all the time so it felt really nice to have someone always there for you.. (:

Why is it important to be caring towards our friends?
Obviously, it is very important to be caring towards our friends. Besides our family and relatives, friends are probably the next closest thing to our hearts! If we don't care for them, how will you expect them to care for us? Always treat people the way you want to be treated. Thus, if you don't want to be cared for, you can always not care for others. Also, caring for others can always make yourself happy. Don't you feel good when you help someone or care for someone? Besides, friends are always there when you need them. TRUE friends and family are the ones who will really help you when you need it help and they will be ones who will care for you.
FRIENDS TIL THE END!!
